Monty A. Bruner, PhD, CHMM

Dr. Bruner is an environmental scientist with a strong background in biology, ecology, toxicology, and data analysis. Dr. Bruner has over 15 years experience in environmental project management, research, and reporting. Dr. Bruner has conducted research and managed projects in more than 25 states in the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, Belize, Chile, and Argentina. Dr. Bruner has been the President of ETG since 2007 and has experience in project management, personnel management and marketing. Project activities have included Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs), underground storage tank (UST) removal, risk assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies (RI/FSs), and asbestos and lead paint surveys and abatement projects. Dr. Bruner has also participated in projects directed at examining the effects of contamination on amphibian populations at a closed municipal landfill; examining the effects of timber management practices on the herpetofauna of the Quachita Mountains of southwest Arkansas; determination of groundwater and surface water toxicity as a result of leachate migration from a landfill; evaluation of the sensitivity of developing amphibians to ultraviolet-B radiation; and conducted laboratory work related to the effects of prenatal irradiation on extracellular matrix proteins. During his time as a Doctoral student at Oklahoma State University, he received a Presidential Fellowship for Water, Energy and the Environment from the Environmental Institute for four consecutive years and upon graduation he was awarded the Ph.D. Graduate Research Excellence Award from the Graduate College for his research projects in Canada, the United States, and South America.
