Asbestos Survey
Former Warehouse Building
Durant, Oklahoma
ETG conducted an asbestos survey at a former warehouse building to identify asbestos containing materials (ACM) that were potentially present in the facility. Samples were collected from all areas and materials that were felt to potentially have ACM used in the construction of the building. Samples were taken of floor tile, vinyl sheet flooring, tar paper, roofing materials, insulation material, and drywall. A total of 16 representative samples were collected to determine the presence of ACM in the facility. All samples were sent to QuanTem Laboratories in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for analyses. A written report with recommendations was prepared. The report presented the findings of the analytical testing, illustrated sampling locations, and estimated volumes of ACM identified during the survey.

Asbestos Survey, Management Plan, and Employee Awareness Training
Gear Products, Inc. (a Dover Company)
Tulsa, Oklahoma
ETG conducted an asbestos survey at the Gear Products, Inc. (GPI) manufacturing facility to identify ACM that were potentially present in the facility. A total of 90 representative samples were collected to determine the presence of ACM in the facility. Samples were sent to QuanTem Laboratories in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for analyses. A written report with recommendations was prepared. The report presented the findings of the analytical testing, illustrated sampling locations, and estimated volumes of ACM identified during the survey.
Following completion of the asbestos survey and reporting, ETG was again contracted to prepare an Asbestos Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Plan for the facility. ETG utilized information from the asbestos survey report regarding the location, quantity, type, condition, and potential for disturbance of asbestos containing materials in the development of the O&M Plan. The O&M Plan contained the specific procedures and practices to be utilized for the control of ACM identified in the facility until such time that the ACM is removed from the facility. ETG provided a 2 hour asbestos awareness training course for applicable GPI personnel. The training met all Occupation Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements and covered the health effects of asbestos, the locations of ACM in the facility, recognition of ACM damage and deterioration, proper housekeeping techniques, and proper response to potential fiber release episodes.
